The Winter Paralympics are here and we’re excited!

If the buzz of the snow sport action over the next couple of weeks leaves you feeling inspired to give something new a try, then go for it! These young athletes we chatted to at our Sports Camp did just that…

Meet Hester Poole, a Para-Alpine Ski Racer for GB!

Hester chatted to the VICTA Student Portal to tell us all about how VI skiing works and how she fell in love with the sport. What started as a tobogganing experience on a dry slope let to her winning Bronze in the European Championships in Poland. You never know where trying something new might take you! For Hester, she hopes it will be the 2026 Winter Paralympics.

Hester also starred in an episode of Extraordinary Me on Nickelodeon UK! Click here to watch Hester’s feature on YouTube >

Meet Jenna Maunder, a Club Level Rugby Player!

Jenna loves rugby and encourages you to get involved! She now plays at Club Level for Trojans Rugby Club in Southampton and hopes to continue when she starts university. Although Jenna has a vision impairment she plays in a mainstream team and tells us how just a few small adaptations make the difference!

Meet Johnathan He, a keen VI Tennis Player

Johnathan has been playing VI tennis for over 8 years. He chatted to the VICTA Student Portal to tell us how VI tennis works and how and why he got involved. It’s benefited Johnathan socially as well as keeping him active and he thinks you should give it a try!

All about VICTA Sports Week at RNC

We chatted to participants of the 14-17s VICTA Sports Week at the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) to hear about the different sports they tried and the fun they had making new VI friends. Come along and join us at our next activity!
