Get Set Progress Internships Programme Thomas Pocklington Trust, in partnership with RNIB, is extending their Get Set Progress programme to 19 sight loss charities across the country and creating 21 paid internships for blind and partially sighted people looking to secure that first rung on the career ladder or who are returning to work following a career break. Opportunity focus – Online mentoring – explore STEM futures

STEM Learning are offering 1:1 mentoring for students aged 14 to 18 * Sign up by 4 October if you would like to take up the opportunity * STEM Learning's online mentoring programme offers students a secure online platform, and a dedicated, 1:1 mentor for 10 weeks. RNIB has new opportunities available on their See Work Differently work placement scheme. RNIB’s See Work Differently employment initiative is for blind and partially sighted people to secure that first rung on the career ladder or who are returning to work following a career break. Opportunity focus – VICTA and CNIB Foundation Virtual Programme Opportunity

The CNIB Foundation has teamed up with VICTA to offer places on two of their virtual Learning Academy programmes this summer. This is a great opportunity for UK teenagers with a vision impairment to meet Canadian vision impaired teenagers on a virtual platform. The two programmes are the ‘Junior Explorers’ programme for Canadian grades 7-8 (12-14 years old) and the ‘Young Achievers’ programme for Canadian grades 9-10 (14-16 years old). New opportunity – Get Set Progress – TPT Internship Programme

Get Set Progress provides paid internships for blind and partially sighted people to secure that first rung on the career ladder or who are returning to work following a career break. Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT) has run a programme of paid internships since 2015 with 85% of interns going on to gain paid employment within six months. In March 2022 TPT extended the programme to five other sight loss charities.
